Lined by lime trees and palm trees, the resort part, boasting approximately 2 hectares in size, is simply perfect for strolling, relaxing and playing. Centrally located, the resort park forms the centre of the town together with the adjacent buildings Arcade Building, Colonnade and Regal Building.
Royal influences on design
A marble statue made by the sculptor Konrad Knoll commemorates King Ludwig I in the centre of the resort park. The king himself gave instructions on how the trees were to be planted in this park. Still today, the resort park is tended to in accordance with the wishes of King Ludwig I. Even before his coronation, the crown prince visited Bad Kissingen in August 1820. Some years later, in 1833, he returned with his wife Theresa of Bavaria and their children. He visited Bad Kissingen several times thereafter.
Music in the resort park
The Bad Kissingen spa orchestra, conducted by Elena Iossifova, plays from Tuesday to Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and at 3:30 p.m. in the Colonnade. These concerts are free of charge for guests. In summertime, you can watch the concerts in the resort park, as the orchestra performs on a rotating music shell.
