155 different types of roses are in full blossom in the summer months June and July.
A park only for the residents of the town
In the glory times of spa treatment, the residents of Bad Kissingen were not allowed to enter any park. Only spa guest were granted access to the resort park. This resulted in discontent among the population and was remedied with the opening of the Rose Garden at the beginning of the 1900ies, spanning over roughly 2.5 hectares.
The last major redesign of the Rose Garden in 2016 featured more than 12,000 rosebushes being planted in the newly set up flower beds. This is based on an elaborate colour concept, which will show in the 155 blossoming types of roses in different colours.
Fountain with a laser show - unique in Germany
In summer 2016, the new fan fountain, built for approx. 3 million euros, and the new design were inaugurated. What is special about this fountain is the integrated technology, capable of generating a laser and projection show with visual and audio effects. A special fountain show programme is in the works.
Editorial tips on the Rose Garden
Get an ice cream to go and walk through the Rose Garden along the Saale river in the direction of the airfield and the saline. You can take the steam boat on the way back.
